ThunderShot’s stage was engineered and fully sound insulated to rival the Fortress of Solitude. Floating walls and ceilings block out interruptions from sirens, helicopters, and rain, granting you the precious gift of more time. It features drive-in access, a staging area, a 180-degree cyc wall, 800 amps of dimmable, distributed power, and silent air conditioning.

When you roll into ThunderShot, you’re immediately greeted by a half-million dollar lighting solution. From the grid to the dimming system, pre-lit cyc, big quartz fixtures, and a robust grip package, great lighting is at your fingertips in minutes instead of hours. It’s like arriving at your shoot to find a 3-ton truck unloaded and ready to go.

Lots of shoots are held hostage by noisy, under-powered AC. You know the drill: a PA tries to cool the room between takes while the make-up artist fights a losing battle with the heat, leaving you with sweaty talent and a grumpy crew. ThunderShot’s HVAC wasn’t an afterthought. Chilled air throws silently into the room, maintaining an optimal temperature.

ThunderShot’s stage was purpose-built to accommodate the structural and electrical requirements of our robust lighting grid. The grid has more than 144 active dimmable 20-amp circuits and 20 active dimmable 60-amp circuits. Our state-of-the-art ETC Element board brings new levels of speed and precision to your lighting set-ups.

In addition to grid power, the studio has two 100-amp Bates connectors (for lunch boxes and big lights) and a set of 400-amp camlock connectors. For sensitive equipment like mixers and computers, there are five 20-amp circuits of clean, conditioned power in the back of the studio. A 100-amp camlock connection in the truck bay provides shore power for production trucks or food trucks.
